Some of my favorite art I've made are ones that are original ideas and not something from the show. I wanted to create a cover of Katya's All Stars 2 Entrance Look, so I started sketching ideas.
My initial thought was to do a super-villain cover of her, featuring her using Jean Grey like superpowers. It was not a bad idea, but I thought it lacked a sense of humor that would really match Katya herself.
My second idea was to do something more cartoony. So I thought - what would Bugs Bunny do? And somehow I thought it would be funny if she was sitting on a pile of dynamite and fireworks while smoking. It was just so stupid, but also funny so it was perfect. The cherry on top was the obvious "NO SMOKING" sign that makes it that much funnier.
